Reston Aquascapes Experts

"Reached out to this business for a pond removal, too much for me to handle and just needed it gone. They responded the same day to my message, probably within an hour! I had many questions and he answered them all. Very kind, knowledgeable and personable! Came a few days later and pond is removed! I appreciate everything your team did to accomplish this for me especially since I was not close location wise. Thank you again!!"

"Domain Aquascapes was a pleasure to deal with. They renovated my struggling water feature and enhanced it quite a bit, even responding to my feedback mid build, by adding a valve for flow control. So I can have full strength which you can hear inside my home but also the ability to slow it down if we are sipping wine outside and want a more relaxed pace. Would definitely recommend!!!"

"Domain Aquascapes did an amazing job! They were professional, knowledgeable, and really paid attention to the details. The finished pond turned out beautiful and exceeded our expectations. I would definitely recommend Domain Aquascapes to anyone looking for a pond or water feature!"

"Dominion Aquascapes are the best. They stand behind both their designs and their service. They respond quickly to situations that require attention - often in less than 24 hours. At the Darlington Oaks Community, we needed to get our new water feature back online on Labor Day and they did. They get our highest grade for customer service!"

"Incredible Water Feature Installation! I am part of an HOA community in Herndon, VA. We were looking to upgrade our existing water fountain to a new water feature that was beautiful but also lower maintenance. Ryan came up with the idea of stacked slate water urns with a large aquablox underground water reservoir to support the water feature. Through the project Ryan and his team demonstrated professionalism, patience, excellent communication, knowledge, punctuality and pride in their completed work. I would highly recommend Domain Aquascapes to anyone/organization looking for a water feature. We look forward to working with Domain Aquascapes moving forward with a maintenance contract to keep our gorgeous water feature beautiful for the community moving forward. Thank you Domain Aquascapes!"

"Fantastic rebuild of my 21 year old pond. Ryan and his team were professional, hardworking, talented and super informative. My pond has never looked better."

"Last year I moved into a house with a neglected Koi pond. Ryan and his crew at Domain came in and completely saved the day.Their knowledge of their craft, and attention to detail is the kind of pedigree you want in a contractor who is installing these type of ecosystems…and all at a very fair price. I highly recommend Ryan and Domain Aquascapes for any/all of your outdoor living water feature systems…and I look forward to working with Ryan at several of my properties in the future."

"Ryan and his team came out to clean up and landscape my very overgrown front and back yard. They were very responsive and came out to give us a quote quickly. They were professional and did a really incredible job. We are already planning to have them back in the spring!"

"Very pleased! Walked us through every stage of the project and executed flawlessly!"

"I contacted Ryan for a pump replacement in my outdoor fountain. My job was a little too small for his business but he sent me the link to the pump I needed and gave me instructions to complete the replacement. Ryan is a honest and kind businessman, I'm thankful for his help!"

"Hired Ryan and Heather at Domain Aquascapes for the design and build of our front yard landscaping. They were great to work with on the overall design and on determining our specific plant and stone preferences. They are very knowledgeable and helped us select native plants that look great and that are environmentally responsible. The work was done very well; nothing was rushed or done carelessly. Whenever there was any uncertainty about anything, they came to us for clarification. They made sure we were completely satisfied with the result before leaving the job. Although we did not end up choosing to install a water feature, I have no doubt that it would also have been excellent quality if we had. We will be calling them first for our future landscaping projects."

"Ryan and Heather are simply the most amazing people. I came to them with a very ambiguous and undefined want to make a memory pond for my deceased mom. Ryan’s eye, vision, emotional intelligence, and finally the unparalleled execution of the request created a space I could not have dreamt of. He took a new not very large patio deck, reshaped it, and not only created a showpiece that surprises all that see it, he actually made the space “bigger,” more lively, and more actively used. I cannot give Domain a higher recommendation. If you are thinking of a project of ANY size, Ryan is your go to. Period, end of sentence."

"Made a beautiful lighted walkway for my parents house. They were a dynamic duo. Very punctual and friendly and am comfortable using them in the future. I am going to use them for my Christmas lights so I’m excited!"

"Ryan came out promptly and repaired my leaking pond. Highly recommend!"

"Ryan and Heather were wonderful to work with. They were highly responsive and communicated clearly throughout the whole process. I am a new homeowner with a lot of big trees on my property. In addition to tree trimming service, they provided helpful suggestions about future ideas, but were absolutely not pushy or trying to upsell anything. They did great work, and they did it quite quickly. I highly recommend and would use them again for trees and other services they offer."

"It was past time to give our front flowerbed some attention. When we saw the work done in our neighbor's backyard, we contacted the same company, Domain Aquascapes. Ryan and Heather were quick to respond and super friendly. Ryan came out to take a look at our sad situation and talked with us to get an idea of our preferences (low / no maintenance, good drainage, curb appeal). They worked efficiently, kept us updated on the progress and changes, and were reasonably priced. We love our new rock garden!"

"Exceptional customer service! Had called to get small fountain cleaned and reconnected. Ryan came by the next day and did an excellent job at a reasonable rate. When the fountain emptied out sooner than expected, Ryan and Jackson came back and sealed any possible leaks. They spent a considerable amount of time making sure that the fountain was working just right. Would most definitely recommend Domain Aquascapes."

"I needed a sixty foot tall Tulip Poplar with a diseased crown removed, several limbs on other trees pruned to raise the canopy and a large horizontal oak limb cabled. Ryan Compton led the team and earned 5 stars The crew was especially careful closing gates to keep my dogs safe Ryan completed the work timely and charged fairly. He was careful to use top quality materials to cable the Oak limb. The previous cable had snapped due to rust and metal fatigue It was a pleasure doing business with Domain Aquascapes. They also went the extra mile to make sure that I would not have a future problem with the trees near my fencing I highly recommend them to anyone requiring professional tree services."

"Ryan and his partner were able to repair a wall mounted spillover fountain on my patio that the installation company was unable to fix. He and his partner were very courteous, responsive, and professional. They went above and beyond to make sure I understood future maintenance to make sure the fountain continues to operate correctly. Highly recommend!"

"Ryan was super friendly and knowledgeable when it came to designing a pond. Other companies put 3x the price and couldn’t answer all of my questions so I wasn’t sure they were providing the exact service I was looking for. If you’re looking for someone professional, honest and prioritizes customer service. Ryan is your guy! Highly recommend."

"I have hired Ryan and Heather for my landscape work. They were very reasonable, responsive, and polite. The work they have done is impeccable and detailed. Most of the other contractors asked for 50% upfront before even show up. These guys trusted us and completed every detail of the work before the payment. I will use them for any other landscaping work in the future."

"Very rare when you find a someone who has so much passion and competency in what they do ... Ryan and his crew surpassed all expectations. Ryan design and vision of the project was right on target creating a peaceful oasis in my backyard. Scheduling and communication was always prompt and clear. Costs was very reasonable and clearly understood. No need to look any further for the best pond company in the area."

"Would strongly recommend Domain. For initial estimate for tree removal, Ryan promptly came out and provided a competitive estimate, but what distinguished his bid was his explanation of what and why he would do (or not do) certain things. Further communications were prompt and clear. Very happy with the work and will use again when needed!"

"Ryan and his team did such an amazing job on our pond and waterfalls! When he came out to describe what he could do it sounded nice, but after it was fully installed it surpassed our expectations by a mile! The vision that he had and what he delivered is absolutely incredible! He truly understands and knows how to replicate Mother Nature and blend the water feature into the landscape. It looks so amazing with the aquatic plants and the underwater lighting in the evening is absolutely stunning! Now that the pond is the new hang out, we are seriously considering koi fish. We will be calling him very soon to get us set up for that. Truly an artist!"

"Ryan helped us in a dire pond crisis, he came out the same day on a weekend to fix a leak, which would have ultimately taken away our Koi that we have raised for many years. He was very kind, patient, and knowledgeable and he will have my business for many years to come. Thank-You Ryan :)"

"Domain Aquascapes are my dream pool and garden team. They check the boxes above for good quality, good value, professional, responsive and on time. More than that they were working on my pond on the hottest day of the year and were great about hydrating and not overheating. Ryan recognized some of my garden problems and suggested solutions which he and Heather implemented. They were prompt about returning to finish my pond. They also were able to do a spur of the moment project on their busy weekend. I can't wait to use them again. Ten stars!"

"Ryan and his partner fixed my urn fountain, which had lost pressure and was not flowing well. They found the source of the problem, fixed it, and provided some tips about how to care for the fountain. They also made some changes to help the fountain work more smoothly in the future. What I appreciated most about Ryan and Domain Aquascapes was how responsive they were and how quickly they came out to fix my issue - a total of just a few days from first email to solving the issue. Highly recommended!"

"Our homeowner's association in Reston hired Ryan and Heather to clean up the silt, leaves, and algae that had settled on the bottom of the coves around our three ponds and their associated water features. They also removed overgrown grasses and trimmed bushes around the perimeter of the ponds. They did a beautiful job! They were easy to work with and never shy with sharing ideas on how to improve the appearance of the areas in which they worked. Ryan is very particular about his work and has high standards for his performance. We hope to have them back to continue the excellent work they have done for us. Our residents are delighted!"

"Ryan did such a fantastic job with the landscaping that we requested. He was great with communication, on time, efficient, very easy to work with, made sure to check up on any adjustments, and was extremely well priced. Our house has had a lot of work, and Ryan is by far the most excellent person we have worked with, and I will definitely be calling him again for future work. I cannot recommend him more highly and will be spreading the word to friends and neighbors!"

"I was referred to Ryan and Heather by my neighbors. I shared a few Pinterest photos with ideas, and they were able to turn around design options within a matter of days! They took great care in walking me through the entire build process. I love my new front yard and get compliments from strangers walking past my home nearly every day. My only regret is that I didn’t work with Ryan and Heather sooner. I look forward to working with them on future landscaping projects!"

"Very experienced and knowledgeable."

"Wonderful experience start to finish with Ryan and Heather! We had a small sloped area in the back yard, and they made the vision come true for an amazing waterfall. They were so easy to work with and had great ideas, and were very interested in my input as well. The waterfall truly looks like it just emerged from the hill intact, as though nature had put it there, and their lighting ideas make it enjoyable at night too. We went together to pick out the landscaping when the waterfall was done, which just elevated the whole thing to another level of beauty. Wholeheartedly recommend them if you are considering a water feature!"

"I highly recommend recommend Ryan. He thoroughly cleaned our pond and spent a significant amount of time with me explaining details about the pond and plants. He communicated with me before during and after. We plan to use him to expand our pond to Incorporate koi. He and Chris were very personable. If you want a pond done right the first time this is the company to call"

"Ryan came and cleaned our our two-tier pond with waterfall and set up our fountain pumps. He also recommended a great pump for our waterfall feature that makes our pond the spectacle of the back yard! He also helped us troubleshoot some broken exterior lighting, which we couldn’t have done without his expertise! I got quotes from 5 companies and am so glad we chose to go with Domain Aquascapes. We will be using his service from here on out!!"

"Ryan and Heather designed and built a garden pond for me this past week and it is beautiful beyond what I imagined! They used rocks I already had in my yard and built a two level pond with a small waterfall. It was completed in one day and the result is a beautiful natural area that will attract wildlife and serve as a focal point for my patio. I have also had them do tree pruning on most of my trees. They did the best job over any other company I have ever had. And their prices are extremely reasonable. I heartily recommend them for all your needs."

He and his partner did a fantastic job on our yard - trimming hedges, weeding, mulch, edging and treating some bushes that needed some TLC. He is very knowledgeable and meticulous about his work and he went above and beyond to make our yard look great for a very reasonable price. Our neighbor hired him too after seeing him at our house so I witnessed that great work as well. He and his partner worked continuously until everything was completed to perfection. Highly recommend them for any landscaping needs!"

"We have had a koi pond for 20+ years. In 2023, we had a new waterfall, skimmer and a bunch of lights installed. The lights stopped working. Unfortunately, the folks who installed everything have since retired and the new folks don't service ponds, and don't have the records of their predecessor. We called Ryan at Domain Aquascapes, and he went the extra yard to determine what kind of lights we had, confirmed they are still under warranty based on the codes/markings on the lights. And informed us they are 100% exchangeable for working lights. Thank you Ryan, We have 6 lights that are out, and at $160/per light, this is saving us a bundle. Thanks again!"

"Ryan was so responsive when I discovered a water issue in my basement. He helped quickly assess and resolve the problem. Highly recommend."

"Ryan and his team went above and beyond.I can't believe how nice it turned out. They were so Friendly and professional. These guys really know their stuff.I will definitely recommend them.Five stars for me"

"Ryan is truly a Pond Whisperer. We were at wits' end with our water feature, having tried several contractors who either suggested a rebuild for $20K or just shrugged their shoulders and said good luck. Ryan came in, looked around, visualized the system as it could be, and in short order found the problems, corrected them, and reassembled the whole thing holding water and looking better than it ever had since we bought the house. He has a combination of knowledge, intuition, and passion for his work. I strongly recommend him for anything related to water features, whether it's designing and building them or servicing existing ones."

"First rate landscapers. Ryan and Heather were responsive, flexible, experienced and professional. From first consultation to estimate to design to construction of a lovely little stream, waterfall, & pond in our backyard. The birds love it. We do too. Highly recommended."

"Outdoor Christmas Lighting - Ryan and Heather did an outstanding job on our home and lawn. We messaged them on a Friday and they were at the house on Saturday for the estimate, started on Monday and finished on Tuesday. Gave us options for using theirs or our lights and we did a combination. We have always wanted to frame the two story roof and dormers with lights and it looks great. The C9 LED lights were custom measured and installed with no leftover lights. We also opted to light up 12 steeplechase arbor vitae trees with clear net lights and our azaleas with multi-colored lights. Meticulous, neat, professional, and very easy to work with, we highly recommend them for any holiday lighting needs. We have received many compliments on our busy street."
