This Alexandria koi pond is moving right along. The dig is done, the protective base layer is down, and the EPDM liner is fully laid into the basin - which is one of the most important steps in the whole build. Get this part wrong, and you're dealing with leaks and headaches for years.

EPDM liner is the gold standard for pond construction. It's flexible enough to conform to any shape, resistant to UV exposure and temperature swings, and built to hold up for decades. We use it on every koi pond we build because koi need a clean, stable environment - and that starts with a liner that won't fail on them.

You can see from the scope of the excavation that this is a serious water feature. A mini excavator handled the heavy digging, and the team has been hands-on throughout the liner installation to make sure every fold and contour sits right against the base. That kind of attention in the early stages is what separates a pond that performs well from one that causes problems.

Stone installation is coming next, and that's honestly where this pond is going to start looking like something special. The rocks aren't just decorative - they anchor the liner edges, create natural shelves and depth variation, and give koi the hiding spots and shade they need. We're looking forward to sharing the finished product with you.
