We're currently working on this pond in Nokesville - and it's shaping up to be a really satisfying job. The cleanout itself is just the starting point. From there, we're adding an aerator, updating the lighting, and bringing in more stone to give the whole setup a fuller, cleaner look.
The fish handling is one of the parts of this work we take really seriously. You've got a pond full of small fish that need to be carefully netted and kept safe while we work. That means using the right containment setup, moving deliberately, and keeping stress on the fish as low as possible. It's hands-on, careful work - not something you rush through.
An aerator is one of the smartest things you can add to a pond like this. It keeps oxygen levels up, helps break down organic waste, and makes a real difference in long-term water clarity. Paired with a cleanout, it essentially resets the pond's health from the bottom up. Better water quality means healthier fish and less maintenance headache down the road.
The lighting and stone additions are about more than looks. Good pond lighting extends how much you actually enjoy the space - especially in the evenings. And adding stone gives the edges and interior a more finished, natural feel. Small upgrades like these pull everything together and make the pond feel intentional rather than just functional.
We'll be posting more photos and video as this one comes together. It's a great example of what a full pond refresh can look like - starting with a solid cleanout and building on it with a few targeted improvements that make a noticeable impact.
